Intern for General Accounting department

We are offering an interesting opportunity for one student searching for practical experience within accounting department in an international company. Through this internship program at DTSE CZ, you can bring your strengths to the next level while putting theoretical knowledge to the practical use. During the time, you will join more than one team within General Accounting department (GAC) with dedicated projects and activities. After the initial training, which can take up to 1 month, you will have your own responsibilities and tasks to do. Don´t worry, there will be always some helping had for you - a Mentor from the department who will guide you for the entire length of the Internship.

General Accounting team is responsible for closing preparation, execution and tracking of activities in the area of HR accounting, revenue, non-current assets, inventories, tax and intercompany accounting for several companies within the Deutsche Telekom Group. Moreover, the team ensures consistent application of accounting policies and compliance with international accounting standards, reporting, quality assurance and customer care.

What you will learn / participate in:

  • Monthly accounting entries following high Deutsche Telekom Group standards, asset accounting, HR-accounting activities
  • Controls for the internal control system to ensure compliance and correctness of the General Ledger
  • Intercompany balances reconciliation and confirmation, Reconciliation of the balance in the relevant sub-ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger
  • Conduction of analyses as requested by management
  • Supporting other team members (presentations, organization of internal information sharing platforms)
  • Interaction with multiple internal (customers, other shared services centres…) and external parties (auditors, tax office…)
  • Preparing of audit schedules and assisting the auditors in their inquiries if needed

Your skills:

  • You are a student of Bachelors or Masters Degree, business-related program (i.e., Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, Management Information Systems…) and you already have at least theoretical knowledge of basic accounting principles (balance sheet, financial statement etc.)
  • Advanced English (min. B2, spoken and written), other east European language is an advantage
  • Time flexibility – we expect you to work approx. 20 hours per week (more at the beginning and the end of the month – during closing period)
  • You are eager to work independently on your tasks but you are not afraid to ask if you don´t know what to do :)
  • Ability to think analytically and be responsible for your results, accuracy when working with numbers, team approach
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
